Sony Ericson telah memperkenalkan anggota terbaru dari keluarga Xperia nya, Sony Ericson Xperia X8 sebuah Smartphone Android. Sony Ericson XPERIA X8 masih dalam pengembangan dan kode-nama Shakira, itu tampaknya akan memadukannya Android 1.6 dengan Sony Ericsson X10 Mini UI daeri Sony Ericsson Timescape UI.  Xperia X8 didukung oleh prosesor 600MHz dengan RAM 128MB yang perlu dijalankan oleh Android OS 1.6, telepon ini hanya berukuran  99 x 54 x 15 mm dan berat 104 gram, itu lebih kecil dan lebih ringan dariiPhone 4. Mesin ini bungkus layar sentuh 3-inch, menawarkan resolusi 320 × 480 piksel yang sama seperti layar 3,5 inci pada iPhone 3GS.
